Editing a Class

Modified on Wed, 31 Jan at 3:30 PM

Understand how to edit an existing class.

After a class has been created in OrasiLabs, the information for the class can be modified as needed. Administrators can edit any class and non-administrators can edit any class they are associated with as creator or instructor.

The Class Edit page can be reached from the main list of Classes or after selecting a class from the list.

Classes can be edited at any time, even if the class is currently running.

Selecting Edit From the Classes List

Select Classes from the main left-hand menu. The Pencil icon will appear under Actions for any class that you can edit.

Select the Pencil icon next to the class you wish to edit.

Selecting Edit From the Class Page

Select Classes from the main left-hand menu and select the class you wish to edit. This will open the main Class page where you can select Edit Class from the top-left.

Editing the Class

From the Class Edit page, you can edit the information as needed. The following information is available in drop-down panels:

  • Instructors - a list of all instructors assigned to the class and a designated primary instructor

  • Conference Information - applies to instructor-led classes only and provides 3 possible options:

    • Integrated - OrasiLabs will handle all screen sharing and audio functions directly from the digital classroom. Instructors and students will be provided additional features to enable/view screen sharing and mute/unmute their audio. For additional details on OrasiLabs integrated conferencing, please refer to the article Creating a Class Conference.

    • External - A 3rd party conferencing tool will be integrated with OrasiLabs. In this case, the corresponding URL generated by the 3rd party conferencing tool should be copied into the invitation details. The URL will be displayed to students who will use the link to open the associated online meeting.

    • None - No class conference is necessary (e.g., for in-person classes) or the conferencing is being handled completely outside of OrasiLabs

  • Lab Managers - includes information about any lab templates that are being used to create labs for the class.

  • Students - a list of students that are registered for the class.

  • Libraries - any libraries that will be used to push files to instructor and student labs and student classrooms.

  • Notifications - includes optional notifications that can be sent to instructors and students.

Select Save Changes once you have made the necessary changes.
