Is OrasiLabs Secure?

OrasiLabs is a secure, cloud-native Amazon AWS application.

In today's digital world, data security is one of the foremost concerns.  That's why we built OrasiLabs on top of Amazon's industry-leading AWS cloud environment.  As an OrasiLabs customer, you have complete control of your assets and can ensure they are protected from digital intrusion.

Here are just a few ways that OrasiLabs helps protect your corporate data:

  • OrasiLabs is an Amazon AWS Cloud-Native Application.  This allows you to take full advantage of the protections provided by Amazon so you can be confident your data is secure.

  • All OrasiLabs content is hosted in the Amazon AWS Cloud, including both the application system itself as well as the customer-created content.

  • Enterprise Customers can choose to use their own Amazon account to house and execute tenant resources.  Customers can even choose which Amazon datacenter is used for each template/class.

  • All access to OrasiLabs, for both instructors and students, is through a web browser using a secure, password-protected, encrypted connection.  Only tenant administrators and instructors have access to the OrasiLabs application.  Students can only access their dedicated, class-specific virtual lab(s).

  • Customizable user groups can be defined to segment application responsibility.  This includes the ability to turn on/off access to administrative settings, lab template editing, file library editing, and/or class editing.

  • Students do not directly access your corporate network from their local machines.  Instead, any required corporate network access originates from within the OrasiLabs lab.  If desired, then, custom firewall rules or VPN tunnels would be configured between AWS and your corporate network.  This helps eliminate any concerns about the student's local machine being a security risk.

  • If necessary, students would most likely use existing corporate IDs (including most SSO and 2FA mechanisms) to login to the corporate network from within an OrasiLabs lab.  If a VPN client is used, the VPN software would be installed in the OrasiLabs lab rather than on the student's local machine.

  • OrasiLabs automatically tracks all system activity, including both user and AWS resource activity.  Detailed activity logs and AWS pipeline reports are available for review and inspection.
