Rollback Lab Templates

Modified on Wed, 31 Jan at 1:45 PM

Lab template resources can be rolled back to a previous restore point.

Before we cover how to rollback a lab template resource, let's first define restore points and understand when they are created for lab templates.

Lab Template Restore Points

Lab Templates are typically started and stopped multiple times in the process of customizing them for your needs.  Each time a lab template is stopped, the user will have the option to save or discard changes.

If changes are saved, a new restore point is created for any resource (server, database) in the lab template. Initial restore points are also automatically created for each new lab template resource.

Each restore point is automatically given a name based on the date/time/timezone of when it was created.  Select Rollback (circular icon) in Lab Template Details to view restore points for each lab template resource.

Rollback to a Previous Restore Point

You can rollback to any previous restore point for a lab template resource.  This can be helpful if you need to undo configuration changes that were saved to a lab template.

To rollback to a previous restore point, first select Rollback (circular icon) in Lab Template Details when viewing a lab template.

Restore points for each lab template resource will be displayed.  Select Rollback Here to return the lab template resource to a previous state.  NOTE: Lab Templates must be stopped and unpublished for the Rollback Here option to be enabled.

Rolling back to a previous restore point is irreversible and will undo any configuration changes made since the selected restore point was created.

In this example, the template resource was rolled back to the original state and any restore points created since then were deleted.
